The Reverend Dr. Jane P. Mitcham is a dynamic speaker with an inclusive message.  We are excited to have her as our guest speaker for the 15th Anniversary Celebration on Sunday, September 25th at 10:30 AM. 

 

     She and her husband, The Rev. Dr. Bill “Mitch” Mitcham, have two children, six grandchildren and one great grandchild. 

 

     Jane earned a B.A. degree in Health and Physical Education at Lenior-Rhyne College (now University).    She continued her education at the University of South Carolina earning a M.A.T. degree in Health Education and an Ed. D. degree in Health Education Administration.  Reverend Mitcham’s was awarded a certificate of ordination at Pacific Lutheran Theological Seminary. 

 

During her professional career, she was a teacher and administrator in the public schools of South Carolina.  Her ministry service is extensive including Co-director, Dept. of Family Life Education and Counseling, Lutheran Family Services and Assistant to the Bishop , NC Lutheran Synod of the ELCA.   In addition, she has been the pastor of two congregations: St. Paul Lutheran Church, Statesville, NC and Beth Eden Lutheran Church, Newton, NC. 

 

Currently, Dr. Mitcham is the Executive Director, OUTright Youth Catawba Valley.  Her life and ministry continue to demonstrate God’s unconditional love for all people, especially to those who experience discrimination and sometimes rejection by society.
